When you are presented with a common sense addition to a gun law, and your response is:
"Businesses bucked hard on that. It created a liability issue for them."
When the suggestion creates ZERO liability whatsoever for anyone, it makes you sound like one of the following is true:
A) You are in the pockets of the businesses.
B) You are brown-nosing the more powerful legislators who are in the pockets of the businesses.
What is it all about
FREEDOM of the individual. Focus on that with legislation, and it will be hard for you to go wrong.
