Primal Shepherd's Pie

Primal Shepherd's Pie Another recipe that is low-carb, and really tasty. Ingredients: 1 tablespoon chopped garlic 2 teaspoons salt 2 teaspoons pepper 3 teaspoons rosemary 2 tablespoons  Worcestershire sauce 2 pounds ground lamb (may substitute ground beef for all or part due to cost) 1 chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped carrot 1/2 cup frozen peas 1 cup grated cheese of choice (cheddar, Monterrey-Jack, etc.)  2 tablespoons tomato paste 2 tablespoons olive oil  1 cup beef broth Preparation: On medium heat, saute the onion, garlic, and carrots until the onion is clear. Add the ground lamb, and brown. Add half the salt and pepper while the lamb is browning. (I like mine minced up into small crumbs of meat - stir a lot for this) Drain and remove the excess grease.  Add the beef broth, tomato paste, and worcestershire, and mix well. Primal quesadilla

Recipe Time! A couple of readers have asked for recipes. I have a few dishes I make that people tend to enjoy. However, I have no classical training in the culinary arts. That said, I'm a fan of food... and have read multiple books on the subject, as well as experimented since age 12 in the kitchen. Here is the first one - what I call a primal quesadilla. (Some people call this an omelet) PS - the Primal Diet shuns grains. Being a diabetic, I have seen great results by following the plan! So this recipe will have no tortilla!
