Somthing I'll Never Understand

I see this happen from time to time, and I never understand it. A person will face a decision:

Option A 
- helps someone near to them.
- requires NO action on the person's part.
- makes sense in every possible way.

Option B
- harms that someone near to them, or otherwise works against the interests of that loved one.
- requires significant action and / or effort on the person's part.
- makes no sense whatsoever.


For some reason, some people will choose "B" and go out of their way to do something detrimental to someone near to them, as opposed to do absolutely nothing, and help that loved one. Funny thing is, the person that makes this choice is typically a lazy person.

Go figure.

Henceforth, I shall call this sort of action "imbecillious."
