What It Is Is

So we all heard the story about the ship that got stuck in the ice. What the news isn't reporting is that the ship's mission was to observe disappearing ice due to the effects of "global warming." ( as I type this out, it is supposed to get down to 2 degrees here in Tennessee ) .

Did He Or Didn't He?

Yesterday, a mentally unstable man killed 13 people in a Navy yard. At first, it was being reported that the now-dead gunman shot the people with an AR15 rifle. The FBI has officially commented , forcing CNN and others to change their story . Of course, the NSA's spying programs did nothing to stop the guy... prompting myself and others to wonder if this was either set up, or allowed to happen specifically so the government and media could attack 2nd Amendment rights. Some of the media were preemptively taking up arms against guns. Other media outlets simply took advantage of the situation. We already know that the shooter was a liberal , and had several run-ins with the law in the past, including having been violent with a gun. DC gun laws didn't keep this from happening. Navy gun restrictions didn't keep this from happening.  We need to ban mentally unstable liberals... not guns. .

Smells fishy...

Connecticut shooting. Things don't add up . So many different reports. I'll add to that list this item: At first, we were told the shootings happened with the handguns and that the Bushmaster was in the back of the car. Now we are told that the shootings happened with the Bushmaster. This video explains it What is the media hiding? What agenda are they trying to push? Why are they being so obvious? .

Be mindful what you read

This article is titled: "Report: Boy, 15, dies after Odom crash" Even the wording as the article continues tries to make it sound like LA Lakers basketball star Lamar Odom had something to do with the crash.  Then, at the end, the truth comes out. Odom had hired the company to drive him around. He was in the back seat of the hired car. That's the extent of his involvement - none whatsoever.

More crap from mainstream media

I'd seen this some time ago. This "article" on concealed carry is really noting more than a setup for the individuals. All that is conclusively proven by this experiment is that a trained professional, who knows whom he will shoot, and where that target is sitting, can enter a room and "kill" said target before the target can respond (with non-lethal ammunition, of course!) An interesting counter experiment would be to put a similarly trained professional in the room as the target, and not let the "assassin" know whom they are, nor where they sit, and see what would happen. To add insult to injury, there is a caption below the youtube video which reads: "CCW permit holders don't protect innocent people. They kill them." As I've documented many times on this blog, legally carrying citizens, as a rule, are far more likely to protect a person, shoot the bad guy, and actually hit the bad guy (as opposed to police, who often ...

So far off the mark, it's almost funny

In an anti-gun article, USA Today showed a picture of an AR15, in an article titled: " AK-47s are turning up more in US" In the small print caption under the photograph, the rifle is correctly labeled as an AR15. Still, why not show the AK47?

Destroying Liberal Arguments, one after another.

As more and more facts emerge on the Arizona shooting, we get to see more and more liberal talking points on why guns are bad, why certain things should be banned from the public, and various other absurdities. I want to use this post to keep a running tab on things we hear through the media that are false. I will document and link to proof as needed. Loughner was a right-wing nutjob.  Nope - check out my previous post - he was a left-wing nutjob. We need more gun-control so that he would have been barred from buying the gun. Again, I'll reference my previous post. This clown was barred from buying a gun, primarily under two parts - his mental stability was in question, and he had a history of illegal drug use. Both are disqualifying factors. Much of the gun-control talk has been coming from Representative Carolyn McCarthy . She is the same representative who, on the air, admitted she did not know what a barrel shroud is - even though she was wanting to ban them. She we...

Misleading story is not really misleading

Link to story . MSNBC tried to do an article about the Republicans getting sworn in to Congress today. The subheading was misleading: "Republicans take charge of House, ending 2 years of Democratic dominance" For the record, the House of Representatives was controlled by the Democrats since the 2006 elections (for which they were sworn in early January, 2007). Simple math tells me 2011 - 2007 = 4 . Dems have been in control of the House of Representatives for four years - not the misleading two. The misleading "two years" might be a reference to the past two years, when the House, Senate, and the President, were all Democratically controlled - but that was not stated in the article at the time I publish this.

Make up your mind about what you are going to lie about

BEFORE you lie. That way, it's easier to keep up with the lie. CNN personality Chris Matthews interviews Michelle Bachman. It is clear that Chris is irritated at the Republican sweep this evening. Here is the interview . My favorite part? Glad you asked! "I think people are thrilling tonight, I imagine that thrill is maybe not quite so tingly on your leg anymore, I'm not sure anymore," Rep. Bachmann told Matthews. In response, Matthews said: "I never used that word" But, reality is a bit different than Matthews' recollection this evening: Link here .

CNN gets it wrong how many times in this picture?

Three MAJOR errors: 1. That's not Sara Palin - it's Glenn Beck 2. She spells it "Sarah" - not "Sara" 3. Palin never ran for president. She was the Vice Presidential pick for John McCain. Mrs. Usagi suggests that since CNN's ratings are so low, they cannot afford to hire competent help. I am inclined to agree. Can you spot more errors?

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed

A few years back, when President Bush's daughter, Jenna, got married, it seemed to me the media was critical of the event. Fast forward to this past weekend, the media couldn't get enough of the Chelsea Clinton marriage. It would seem that Freedom's Lighthouse has also noted the difference.

Gubernatorial Debate

Monday evening, I watched the Tennessee Gubernatorial debate. It featurd the four major candidates in the race - Republicans Ron Ramsey, Zach Wamp, and Bill Haslam; and Democrat Mike McWherter. I say, if the media wanted to elect Haslam any more, they should have just uninvited the other three candidates and called it the Bill Haslam hour. I pondered for a moment why the left-leaning local media wouldn't want to push Mr. McWherter more, then it dawned on me: Despite being the son of the Tennessee Democratic party's sweetheart - Ned McWherter - Mike has no real chance of winning this election. Polls show him losing by wide double-digit margins against any of the three republican candidates. That being said, Ron Ramsey is a devout conservative. Zach Wamp, despite 16 years in Washington, leans fairly heavy to the conservative side. Haslam is as liberal as one can get away with in TN and still have the (R) beside one's name. That's why the media favors Haslam, he is really ...

Fail is strong with this one...

I am about to direct you to an article that is fairly inaccurate. Link . For my reader's information - there is no 45-mm handgun in existence... that I know of. There are several .45 calibers - .45 ACP, .45 GAP, .45 Long Colt to name a few. 45 millimeters is nearly two inches. The law currently disallows any commercial firearm to have a caliber (diameter) greater than .5 inches - .50 caliber. Perhaps the author felt guns are to "icky" to research enough to write an accurate account of. The worst part is later in the article, a .45 caliber handgun is correctly written as such. This means the editor failed, as well.

Again, so far off, it is almost funny...

An article in the Huffington Post claims that the AR15 market came to a screeching halt last year. Link. The claim is that people just stopped buying AR15's after mid-year, leaving gun dealers and manufacturers high and dry. >>> Usagi laughs hard - rolling on the floor, then picks himself up to say: Wanna know a little secret? >>> Usagi speaks in hushed tones >>> If, in fact, people stopped buying AR15's last year, it was because demand was through the roof. All of them might well have been bought up. Popular manufacturers like Colt, Bushmaster, DPMS, and Rock River had 3-6 month waiting lists for the rifles. All of those companies (and many others - too numerous to name in one post) posted record sales numbers and profits. Hushed tones end We are just now seeing prices and supply levels back to the same point as late 2007 / early 2008.

Calling out the Media

Interesting story here. Nashville's Channel 4 ran a story on an event attended by numerous lawmakers today. Link . The "journalist" slanted the story to be an "expose" of lawmakers "skipping" out of their legislative duties. And the slant was absolutely wrong. This event has been planned for over three months. There was a similar event last year. There were more elected officials present than just certain state lawmakers. The list goes on with regards to the inaccuracies of this story as presented by Chanel 4. You can read a response from the owner of Hero-Gear (one of the sponsors of the event) at this link (for a time - ar15.com archives stories after 90-days). In case it gets pulled, I have copied and pasted the response below: Response by Joe Lundberg of Hero Gear (a really nice guy and terrific supporter of our 2nd amendment rights): >>> My response: This is the 4th year we have put this event on for our leaders in Nashville. We had a ...

A "Scandal" Created

Recently, ABC News learned that Trijicon, a supplier to the US Military, has been inscribing Bible Verses on their products. Link to article from ABC . Trijicon produces optics, and has a government contract to supply some optics (scopes) for US Military small arms (M16 and M4 rifles). Their specialty is the production of the Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG). These ACOG's are very rugged, provide 3-4 power magnification, have an illuminated reticle, and most have calibrated additional aiming dots for longer range shots (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 yard marks). Trijicons are of the highest quality and a single optic often has a price of over $1000. The reason for the price also includes the fact that the optic stays on all the time... no batteries. Trijicon makes the optic run on a low grade radioactive substance, tritium. While harmless to people, the tritium provides the "battery power" for years in the optic. Wikipedia on ACOG's. Funny thing in all this ...

Where was this when it mattered?

Senator Harry Reid made some racially unacceptable comments on then-candidate Obama back in 2008. Yet, MSNBC refrains from reporting until today. Link . Why is that? (rhetorical question)

You won't see this on the news...

The Stock Market ended its best year since 2003. Even better than 2004, 2006, and 2007 - all positive years. Many of you are scratching your heads, because if you listen to the nightly news, you would never have known that these years were all really good growth years for the stock market. Link to stock market performance since 1975 . Kudos to MSN money for actually reporting this. Link . Becha won't see this on network news. Any takers???

In case you missed it...

We all know the mainstream media never lets the facts get in the way of a good story. Additionally, they never let a story air about someone or something they are in love with. That being said, here are 9 major news stories the mainstream media passed on this year. Link to article . For your Googling pleasure, in no particular order: - Van Jones - Acorn Tapes - Science Czar John Holdren - "Climate-Gate" - NEA gets politicized - Chas Freeman - The TEA Party Protests - Safe School Czar Kevin Jennings - Stimulus money for Democrats-only.
