Some facts about mass-murderers.

With the recent events of CT, as well as other shootings, and the resulting attempt on gun bans which the President is pushing for, I thought it would be a good time to discuss facts about these murderers. I looked at a LOT of shootings, dating back twenty years. I found a lot of similarities.

These facts will have little to do with the guns, as the guns did not commit the crime, the people did.


1. The murderers have almost exclusively been males under the age of 25. Two exceptions.
2. The murderers use different types of weapons, rarely the so-called "semi automatic assault rifles."
3. The murderers have almost all been using psychological prescription medications.
4. The murderers almost exclusively attack in "gun-free" zones.

I did find one female murderer: in a shopping mall shooting spree in 1985.

When engaged by an armed citizen:
5. I only found one instance of the murderer engaging in an actual fight with the armed citizen.
6. Most murderers turned their own gun on themselves, or were shot by the citizen successfully.
7. Most murderers were limited to five or fewer victims.

When engaged by police:
8. Most murderers turned their gun on themselves.
9. Most murderers had killed more than 10 innocent people.
