The Senate

With the runoff victory of Cindy Hyde-Smith in MS, the US Senate is now poised to be a 53-47 advantage for Republicans.  This was the magic number that was needed. 

Why not just 50, with VP Pence the tiebreaker?

In one word - Traitors. It used to be that we had to worry about McCain, Collins, and Murkowski on every vote - and particularly when it was a vote of major importance.  Well, Collins and Murkowski are still there. McCain had the ultimate term limit enacted by Our Creator.

Yes, Romney is now in the Senate and will likely play the same role of Traitor that McCain once played.  However, this still leaves Republicans with 50 votes, plus Pence. 

And that, folks, will help us keep our Republic a bit longer.
