San Luis Obispo police chief accused of coverup over stolen gun.

Things that happened according to the article that just are not good:

1. The chief lost her duty gun. She forgot it in the bathroom of a restaurant.

2. She didn't report it missing right away, despite the fact that she was supposed to. 

3. She investigated herself, instead of enlisting the aid of others.

4. She attempted to cover it up - even asking for a cell phone call from dispatch, so as not to be recorded.

5. Officers were sent to the wrong house to find the gun.

6. When the resident of the wrong house pointed out that his was the wrong house, officers took his children away from him!!!

7. A county social worker lied about a picture being taken of the wrong house in question - to help the JBTs cover up their mistake!

8. Over 7 hours later, the pistol was reported missing. 

9. The city manager fined the chief $1600, yet praised her on her "integrity throughout the incident."


I really wanna respect LEOs, but their repeated behaviors do not easily permit that respect.
