S. E. Cupp stated recently that the GOP is not doomed if Obama wins this year.
The article draws comparison to 1996 - when Clinton was reelected. At that time, the Republican party was forced to change. It became more conservative and enjoyed a super-majority until 2006. By '06, the party had leaned back to the left quite a bit.
