Sweet Victory

Yesterday evening, four Republican Wilson county school board members were sworn in. The first meeting after the election is in just a few weeks. Among the new board members was  Joseph Padilla.

The Rifleman has attended swearing-in ceremonies in the past.  Typically they are somber affairs. The ceremony last night had the same feeling as a victory celebration.  A loud, raucous ovation was had for each board member as their swearing-in was complete.  Possibly the loudest cheer was for Padilla - who had become the target of the #LibNuts online.

The room was packed - over 50 people in attendance.  Not one of the Leftist Wine Mom gang was to be seen, however.  Of course, there were a couple of Sheriff's deputies on hand. But even they knew there was nothing to worry about from this crowd.  Judge Barry Tatum performed the ceremonies as the official.

There was a time of mingling afterwards, and people got pictures.  The one group photo above had most of the attendees in it. A sharp eye would spot several Wilson county politicians of note in the group - former State Senator Mae Beavers, Mt. Juliet commissioner Bill Trivett, and others.

Make no mistake, there is a lot of work ahead for Padilla and the others. And the next election cycle will have opportunities for true conservatives to make the ballot and oust the remainder of the Leftists still on the board. But for now, freedom is safe in Wilson county schools with the new Conservative majority.

Life Day in Tennessee

As we start our day in Tennessee, a new law has taken effect here. Tennessee’s abortion ban makes providing, or attempting to provide, an abortion after fertilization a class C felony, which is punished with a three-year to 15-year prison sentence and fines of up to $10,000. The abortion ban includes no exceptions for child rape, incest, mental illness, or to "save the life of the mother."

Of course, abortion is not medically necessary to save the life of the mother - there are other operations which remain perfectly legal which will do that.

The Left is predictably having a meltdown. Among their arguments -

"Women no longer have control over their bodies."

Their tears are music to my ears.  So here is a meme dump. Enjoy.

Gun Class Humor II

Reader:  So I absolutely loved your "tell me you've never been to a gun class, without saying 'I've never been to a gun class'" post. Do you have more?

Thou art quite fortunate! (my thoughts in italics below the entries)

Seen on an ad for a $125 one-day gun class: "Too pricey for me."
What?? Did you expect it to be free, Scooter??

On many gun ads: "go join the military!"
Ok. Random. What does joining the military have to do with taking a civilian gun class??

Like the above one: "playing soldier!" or "there's no way you can learn infantry tactics in two days!!!"
The first is a #LibNut who is offended by the thought of a gun class. The second is a former infantryman, who wasn't good at his infantry job, and scored a negative 12 on the ASVAB, and is jealous he cannot make money teaching gun classes.

At a pistol class: "This is a really neat idea. You should teach rifle classes, too!"
This is simply a person who is at their first class and thinks it is likewise your first class.

At a tactical rifle class (100 yards and in), zeroing at 50 yards: "let me go get my AR with the big scope so I can shoot better groups!"
No! Zero the rifle you are going to shoot the class with. (FYI, this person had a unique way of taking classes. More on that in future posts.)

There are many, many more where this came from...

How to Win

As a follow up to this post, recently, I saw a friend suggestion on Facebook - it was Joe Padilla's unsuccessful opponent in the school board election. Since we have no mutual friends, and since I had not looked up her profile, it is reasonable to assume that the Facebook algorithm suggested her because she had been looking at my profile. Unlike some, I do not care if someone looks up my profile - I keep private the things that people do not need to know, and make public things that do not matter. The question remains - why look up my profile?

Logic would dictate that since I was one of a few people who would fight back against "The Gang™"

of Leftist Wine Moms, the most vocal online proponents of Padilla's opponent, that an insight as to what motivates me and those like me would be wise to learn. Emotion would dictate that the losing party would hate me and those like me and would look at my profile in order to gain ammo; to that end, see the second-to-last sentence in the first paragraph.

In the event that this person, and those who would follow in her footsteps want to learn (not likely, IMO), here are a few things that could have been done by that campaign to win in Wilson County, TN:

1. If you were truly conservative, the most important thing you could have done would have been to distance yourself from The Gang™ and their ilk. That is a toxic group and their influence cost you way more votes than they won you in this election.

2. If you were truly conservative, release your voting records to show that you are. A failure to do so simply proved what we all knew - you were not conservative. If you have to excuse a vote for Hillary or Biden as a "vote for the 'better' candidate," then you are not conservative and you know it.

3. If you were truly conservative, then come out early in your campaign against mask mandates, CRT, and similar evils. Reassure the voters that they will have no place in schools while you are on the board. Don't give the simple platitudes that leave voters worried you'll vote with evil... unless, of course, you intend to vote for evil.

Reason Behind the Reason

Sometimes there is a reason. And sometimes, there is a reason behind the reason.

Many times in life, when there are several possible reasons, one should not accept a reason of malice, if a reason of stupidity will suffice.

Someone I know...

Someone I know was terminated from their job in April of this year. Reasons were given to him, but the reasons did not make sense. My friend gave me the names of the players involved. Also, we spoke about the company he worked for (a subsidiary of Allstate), and that also led to some interesting findings. For the record, my friend, like me, has deep conservative values and is not vaccinated and is heavily against vaccine mandates - particularly the COVID-19 "vaccine" (which isn't).

In 2021, Allstate announced to its employees that they would mandate the "vaccine" to remain employed with Allstate. Late in 2021, they said that they would accept medical and religious exemptions. The Monday before exemptions were required to be turned in, the company changed course on this policy. Of course, many people turned in their exemptions before this was made known. My friend was one of those, having turned in his religious exemption.

Here's where it gets fun.

The person who terminated him has social media that was easy to find. A cursory search demonstrated that the person who terminated my friend was a huge supporter of Kasich in the 2016 election.

If you haven't added it up by now, you never will.

I understand why my friend was terminated from his position. Do you?

The "Vaccine" That Didn't

vaccine - n - a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases (emphasis mine).

The COVID-19 "vaccine" was never a vaccine, according to the definition.

Now, the CDC de facto recognizes that statement in how they make their recommendations, as of August 11, 2022. The CDC now does not distinguish in guidelines between the "vaccinated" and the unvaccinated. We #purebloods have been saying this for two years. I guess the CDC got tired of being an absolute laughing stock and having all of their "science" get debunked within days of release.

Meanwhile, another pair of "conspiracy theories" came true:

Nowadays, the difference between conspiracy theory and fact really is just a few months.

JBTs gonna JBT

The FBI Raid on Mar-a-Lago was wrong.
The botched raid that wound up with police killing Breonna Taylor was wrong.
Derek Chauvin was wrong.

If you are on the Left:
You cannot cheer what happened to Trump, and then be ACAB. Pick one.

If you are on the Right:
You cannot correctly criticize what the FBI did, what LEO across the country have done in failing to arrest rioters, then want more police funding. Pick one.

If you are on the Right, and you are smart:
Let the Left have their way on defunding law enforcement on every level. Then laugh at them when they pass gun control laws - because who is gonna enforce those laws?!?!

9 Out Of 10 Ain't Bad

The August primaries are behind us.  For a number of local elections, this ballot had the final say.  As per previous posts on this blog, this author voted to #SendInTheMarine for Wilson county school board, district 4.

As with 9 other races in the County, this particular match up pitted a Republican against an "Independent."

In a county that historically votes 70% Republican, many assert that the only reason that a person would run as an "Independent" is because they cannot qualify to run as a Republican.

Of the 10 races of R vs "I," the Republican won 9.  Only county commission district 18 fell to the democrat, er, "Independent."

Last evening, the wife and I attended the victory celebration for Padilla.  I brought some food, as about 20 people were expected to show.  Expectations were exceeded -

Yeah, it looks like 20 people.  On the right side alone.  At least that many more on the other side.

Padilla gave a very humble election victory speech.  He really does this to protect the children.  No more socialist policies... not on his watch.

This picture from a nearby table as the festivities were winding down.

The next school board meeting is when the new members are sworn in.  I bet we don't have mask mandates in the near future. No CRT garbage being taught.  Etc.

There were many other wins for conservatives all over the state, but this one meant the most to me.
