Essential Pistol

It used to be that my least favorite gun class to teach was pistol.  I am a Rifleman, and definitely enjoy shooting rifles more. In fact, I even had substitute instructors deliver the pistol class due to the fact that the class was one of the more popular, but I just didn't enjoy it as much. 

Not anymore.

Using new teaching techniques, the addition of new materials, the addition of new tactics and techniques to teach, and a new class structure; I have a new outlook on the class. In fact, it is the best class I now offer.   Make no mistake, my rifle classes are better than ever, but the improvements to the pistol class are greater than the improvements to the rifle classes.

These are what I recommend a person get as their first handgun.  If you must go subcompact, then:
Sig P365
GLOCK 43
Smith & Wesson Shield

It's more difficult to fire the subcompact guns as accurately due to a shorter sight radius and the lighter weight, which results in greater felt recoil.   Make no mistake, the smaller pistols are just as accurate.

Generally speaking,  the G19, P320, and 2.0C have better stock triggers out of the box, have longer sight radii, and greater magazine capacity. No, they aren't as easy to conceal, but they are concealable.

Trump Tax Cuts

The Failing New York Times (I love Trump's nicknames) is forced to begrudgingly admit that you  "probably got a tax cut." (warning, this is a link to a site known to publish #FakeNews)

Of course we did. 
Trump always tells us the truth.
#FakeNews always lies to us. 

On a personal note:
The wife and I did not change our withholdings. I made approximately $6,000 more in 2018 than in 2017. For 2017 taxes, I received about $200 in change (it is NOT a refund).

Taxes withheld from my pay in 2018 were about $550 more than was withheld in 2017. With identical withholdings, I received about $2200 in change for 2018, despite the increase in income. 

For the mathematically impaired,  that was a tax cut of roughly $1450 for my household. 

We are firmly middle class - making roughly 150% of the median income of Tennessee, and about 130% of the median income of the US.

Also of note - my 401k has nearly quadrupled since Trump was elected.

FBI Qualification

A friend recently shared with me the FBI pistol qualification. Since your humble water enjoys a challenge, I decided to try it out. I did not have the QIT targets, so I used an IDPA target, instead. The evaluation was so fun, I did it three times. 

The handgun used was a Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 compact. Federal Bulk 9 mm ammunition from Walmart was used.

Pictures were taken, but the ol' phone didn't save them. However, the scores were 98, 100, and 100.

Job Approval

This is remarkable when you consider that Obama was propped by #fakenews while Trump is besieged by it.


True statement, and it cannot be overlooked in the least.  Let's analyze the raw data even more, though. 

Sampling done by Rasmussen - which is solid D+7 to D+10. For this example, we will give "best-case" for Obama and worst-case for Trump.  

Therefore, Obama job approval was 46 - 7 = 39%

Trump's real approval is 53 + 7 = 60% 

At a minimum, the reality is Trump's job approval is 21 points higher than Obama's at the same time, adjusted for correct polling.  And possibly as much as 27 points higher.  Despite the fact that #FakeNews was all-in for Obunghole and is constantly attacking Trump.

Nope... I'm not tired of winning, yet.  

Messing With Pay

Recently, Facebook suggested a friend for The Rifleman. As it turned out, this person passed away several years ago. Even if she had been alive, The Rifleman would not have sent a friend request.

Why?

This person was the Rifleman's second manager with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. She was promoted to that position after my previous manager was promoted to a larger location.

A couple of weeks after she had been the boss, my paycheck came in, and was unusually low. I checked my hours on the system, and they did not come close to reflecting the actual hours which I had worked. Something along the lines of coming in at 9 am, taking a three-hour lunch, and leaving at 4 pm. I was there from 7 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. everyday, usually without a lunch break.

The new boss had been changing my hours when approving.

We had to have our hours reported by a certain day every week. So I made sure to check at the end of that day, just before closing, and sure enough, she had changed my hours again. I quickly changed the back to the correct hours, and left it. I repeated the process the following week, and the subsequent paycheck was much more accurate.

This game went on for about six weeks, when she brought it to my attention. She asked directly if I have been changing hours after she had approved them. I answer to the affirmative, and let her know I was on to her shortchanging me the hours every time.

She actually told me to stop changing my hours after she approved them. I suggested that that would happen, just as soon as she stopped misrepresenting my hours. I added that perhaps a call to HR would be in order, if she felt the need to straighten it out. She advised that no such call was needed.

Just concluded my adventures with the hour Thief.

Voting "Present"

$2.49 per gallon. 

That is the highest price that gas has been while Trump has been in office.

It is also the lowest price that gas ever was during the Obama Administration.

But the president doesn't set gas prices.

What the president can do, is set and enforce regulations that cause gas prices to be higher. He can also set policy regulation and enforcement of barter and trade with other countries call which can yield higher gas prices.

Trump is for America, and knows how to negotiate.

Obama was most certainly against America, and knows how to vote "present."

It Was You

From time to time, one will see liberals defend Barack Obama from allegations of being Moslem.

Mike Gallagher, the 8th most recognized talk radio personality, in the U.S.A., is heard  by over 2.25 million listeners weekly. He compiled and wrote the following essay entitled, "Obama:   It was You."

*  It was you who spoke these words  at an Islamic dinner - "I am one of you."

*  It was you who on ABC News referenced - "My Muslim faith."

*  It was you who gave $100 million in U.S. taxpayer funds to re-build foreign mosques.

*  It was you who wrote that in the event of a conflict- "I will stand with the Muslims."

*  It was you who assured the Egyptian Foreign Minister that - "I am a Muslim."

*  It was you who bowed in submission before the Saudi King.

*  It was you who sat for 20 years in a Liberation Theology Church condemning America and professing Marxism.

*  It was you who exempted Muslims from penalties under Obamacare that the rest of us have to pay.

*  It was you who purposefully omitted - "endowed by our Creator " - from your recitation of The Declaration Of Independence.

*  It was you who mocked the Bible and Jesus Christ's Sermon On The Mount while repeatedly referring to the 'HOLY' Qur'an.

*  It was you who traveled the Islamic world denigrating the United States Of America.

*  It was you who instantly threw the support of your administration behind the building of the Ground Zero Victory mosque overlooking the hallowed crater of the World Trade Center.

*  It was you who refused to attend the National Prayer Breakfast, but hastened to host an Islamic prayer breakfast at the White House

*  It was you who ordered Georgetown Univ. and Notre Dame to shroud all vestiges of Jesus Christ  BEFORE you would agree to go there to speak, but in contrast, you have NEVER requested the mosques you have visited to adjust their decor.

*  It was you who appointed anti-Christian fanatics to your Czar Corps.

*  It was you who appointed rabid Islamists to Homeland Security.

*   It was you who said that NASA's "foremost mission" was an outreach to Muslim communities.

*  It was you who as an Illinois Senator was the ONLY individual who would speak in favor of infanticide.

*  It was you who was the first President not to give a Christmas Greeting from the White House, and went so far as to hang photos of Chairman Mao on the White House tree.

* It was you who curtailed the military tribunals of all Islamic terrorists.

*  It was you who refused to condemn the Ft. Hood killer as an Islamic terrorist.

*  It is you who has refused to speak-out concerning the horrific executions of women throughout the Muslim culture, but yet, have submitted Arizona to the UN for investigation of hypothetical human-rights abuses.

*  It was you who when queried in India refused to acknowledge the true extent of radical global Jihadists, and instead profusely praised Islam in a country that is 82% Hindu and the victim of numerous Islamic terrorists assaults.

*  It was you who funneled $900 Million in U.S. taxpayer dollars to Hamas.

*  It was you who ordered the United States Postal Service to honor the MUSLIM holiday with a new commemorative stamp.

*  It was you who directed our UK Embassy to conduct outreach to help "empower" the British Muslim community.

*  It was you who funded mandatory Arabic language and culture studies in Grammar schools across our country.

*  It is you who follows the Muslim custom of not wearing any form of jewelry during Ramadan.

*  It is you who departs for Hawaii over the Christmas season so as to avoid past criticism for NOT participating in seasonal White House religious events.

*  It was you who was uncharacteristically quick to join the chorus of the Muslim Brotherhood to depose Egypt's Hosni Mubarak, formerly America's strongest ally in North Africa; but, remain muted in your non-response to the Brotherhood led slaughter of Egyptian Christians.

*  It was you who appointed your chief adviser, Valerie Jarrett, an Iranian, who is a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, an off-shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.

*  It was you who said this country is not a Christian nation.

Know Thy Target

In a sense, they are right. The rifle is no match, face-to-face, with the heavier guns, armor, missiles, and equipment that these modern machines of warfare carry. But, no Rifleman would claim they are a match. 

That does not mean that the Rifleman is out of the fight. 

Supply chains. Pilots. Traffic controllers. Fuel tanks. Fuel lines. These are all viable targets that are much more susceptible to rifle fire. 

Gammas & SHTF

Vox Day is forced to turn on  comment moderation due to Gammas being Gammas. My favorite quotes:

And...

If you're a gamma, it may help to understand that this total inability to respect the social order is precisely the reason why people not only hate you, but hate everyone who even reminds them of you. In a better, more just world, gammas would simply be taken out and shot after their high school graduation given their proven inability to function in adult society.

I'm reminded of Rules 4 & 5 of the  Standing Orders -
IV: When war is begun, go find something Evil and kill it...

V: Traitors first...

The gammas would be among the first to subvert plans for survival. They would be henpecking along the whole way if you kept them with you. Without them, there would be nearly zero bickering and argument. Invariably, a gamma would want to argue, bicker, and be antisocial at precisely the moment when unity would be needed for survival.

Gammas don't last long in my training classes, and I do not allow them to be part of my training squads. This is why.
