The Double Down

In a recent post, we discussed how to handle when false allegations are thrown your way. Well, a reader wrote in and asked how to tell when a liar has been confronted, and when an honest person has been falsely accused of lying. And that is a good topic! 

An honest person, when falsely accused of lying, will react a certain way.
Anger, frustration, and confusion are all common responses, while some might feel deeply hurt or betrayed by those who accused them.

Meanwhile, a pathological liar will react a different way. 

They may try to deflect blame or shift responsibility onto others. They may also try to deceive others to avoid being caught or held accountable for their behavior.

The pathological liar may also resort to gaslighting. Gaslighting, of course, is the act or practice of grossly misleading someone, especially for one’s own advantage. Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation and type of abuse that makes a person question their own reasoning and sanity.

Striking Similarity

Readers of this blog will remember the "three laws of SJW:"
1. SJWs always lie.
2. SJWs always double down.
3. SJWs always project.

We have already established that liberals, Democrats, and Gammas all also exhibit these traits. It is this author's suspicion that pathological liars are Gammas. Or at least, that PLs and Gammas share a great many traits. 

Example

As an example, in a recent PT YouTube video, the viewer was cautioned to be mindful of sources. An example was given of a source that is a pathological liar. Of course, nobody should believe anything such a person might say. Said pathological liar discovered the video, and of course, took the singular part personally, though it was not the focus of the video - far from it. 

GASLIGHTING

The first thing the PL did was to gaslight.

However to completely though a colleague under the bus is not professional I understand that there are pathological liars out there but you don’t see people putting them on blast!! However back to the video this video is more or less a carbon copy of tens of thousands of others really nothing to learn here..

Again the copypasta, for same reasons:

Explained as well as others.I can appreciate the importance of the subject! Most people don’t have a clue where to start. They just buy a shotgun and for most that’s where it ends. People need the information literally given to them! Due to most not wanting to pay for it. I do agree with the other comment. There was no reason to put your colleague friend or not on blast that was a very unprofessional and purely due to that I personally would never train with your school. Due to If you decide to do that to a colleague what is to stop you from doing that was a student?

Also of note: both accounts were made less than 10 minutes prior to commenting. 

Classic gaslighting and blame shifting. 

Side note:

For the record, a "colleague" is defined as:

A colleague is a person you work with or have an employer in common, and with whom you communicate and cooperate as part of your job duties.

ATTEMPT TO DECEIVE TO AVOID BEING CAUGHT

More copypasta:

This probably won’t be on to long before [redacted] removes it! I am the person that he is putting on blast! For being a lair. This man has gone after a highly decorated war veteran! I would strongly advise to stay away from [redacted] and his school I was a AI assistant instructor under [redacted] for a year or so. I know who he is and what he stands for. Stay away!!

From Don Shipley: 

" I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL Database (SEAL Teams, Underwater Demolition Teams and predecessor units from 1943 to the Present Day) for anyone named GERALD GRANT WILSON.I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be applicable."

Of course, the person making the claim of "highly decorated war veteran" now says Shipley is "debunked," etc. Funny, he never asked this author for proof of Shipley's claim (which could be easily supplied). 

SUMMARY

This person was not surprised at all. Just angry they got called out. No attempt to state they are not a pathological liar. Because they know they are. 

Had this person been innocent, there would have been words or displays of anger, frustration, confusion, deep hurt, and betrayal. The only one of these present was anger. And that is the one reaction that is consistent with truthful allegations, and false allegations.
