Latest Debate on Carry Insurance - 1

Over the last few days / weeks, several YouTube gun channels have announced they are parting ways with the USCCA. This made me take notice, because I am a USCCA member, and a USCCA partner.

For clarity, I am a USCCA partner, since 2019. I receive a small amount of a finder’s fee when one of their reps is permitted to present at one of my classes. I do not partner with USCCA because I make hundreds of thousands in referral fees…I partner with USCCA because I believe in the product and I believe it is needed.

Also for the record, I am a licensed P&C agent. I have worked in insurance since 2006. I researched policy language for USCCA, US Law Shield, and CCW Safe prior to reaching out to any of them for partnership. And that’s the other thing: they didn’t reach out to me first, offering money. I reached out to them. That said, all three of these companies have improved by leaps and bounds in the past 5-6 years. Competition breeds success.

And no, the USCCA is not perfect. There were times when their coverage was not as good in some areas as the competition. They continue to employ the anti-gunner, Tim Kennedy, and that is a mistake. But nobody is perfect. And they do have the best offering going on the insurance side.

Last caveat: USCCA rightly touts the training they offer as a benefit over and above what is offered by their competitors. This is accurate. And most of their customers bought the memberships for the coverage. So we will not address the training here on this video - only the coverage, and the allegations of others. And we will ask questions that need to be answered.

Back to the four YouTubers who all released nearly identical videos, during almost the exact same timeframe… some things stuck out to me, and they raise questions, which need to be answered. Nevertheless, here are the items that stuck out, and the questions this raises in my mind:

  • In a stroke of what I am CERTAIN is coincidence - they all said almost exactly the same thing. What are the chances this is coincidence?

  • In a stroke of what I am CERTAIN is coincidence - they all said they are moving to Attorneys on Retainer (AOR). What are the chances this is coincidence? You know the old saying - fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME!

  • In a stroke of what I am CERTAIN is irony - they all listed the Kayla Giles case as a contributing factor. For those that do not know:

    • Giles purchased a gun and a policy from USCCA a couple of weeks prior to admittedly killing her estranged husband.

    • Giles attempted to hide her laptop from law enforcement - and when it was discovered, there was damning evidence on it of her plan to kill her estranged husband.

    • Also, there was a video that showed Giles testimony was not accurate.

    • Also, there was testimony that contradicted Giles' account of the shooting.

    • The court found Giles guilty of murder.

    • Another court dropped Giles case against the USCCA for denying Giles coverage.

    • Please note: The USCCA, and other similar companies, are not in the business of insuring people who plan to commit felonies. They are in the business of assisting the wrongfully accused.

    • There are links below to each of these facts: STATE OF LOUISIANA v. KAYLA JEAN GILES COUTEE (2023) | FindLaw And here is the case Giles lost against the USCCA: Judge dismisses Kayla Giles’ claims against insurance company over self-defense policy money

    • Why does AOR continue to press forward with this fabrication?

  • In a stroke of what I am CERTAIN is coincidence - they all refenced the AOR false claim that the USCCA dropped coverage on Alan Colie in his self defense incident, and that forced him to go with a court appointed public defender.

    • Why does AOR continue to press forward with this fabrication???

  • Another question: How did all four / five of these YouTubers just so happen to partner with AOR after parting ways with USCCA? Is this coincidence? I am hard pressed to believe that.

  • Another question: how many smoothbrains can comment that they dropped USCCA because “insurance companies try to weasel out of paying,” and yet turn right around and have faith in contract lawyers???

  • Another question: how many smoothbrains are can comment about USCCA’s recoupment clause - below in the description is a link to where USCCA paid out $50,000 to Giles. And they have not even attempted to recoup any of it. Woman accused in fatal Walmart shooting files lawsuit over halted payments

  • Another question: if you find yourself in trouble with the law for legally defending yourself… a distinct possibility… do you want to be represented in what is likely to be a local district by an attorney from Arizona?

    • Not me. I want to be represented by a Tennessee lawyer - some of the USCCA’s best in Tennessee include Dana McClendon and John Harris - both experienced. I’ve met both men - good fellas.

    • USCCA also affords the opportunity to use your own attorney. So if that is local Wilson county Criminal Defense attorney extraordinaire, Frank Lannom, the outgoing president of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, you can do that.

  • Do you want to have $500K of bail offered as a benefit, or $2.5 million?

  • Do you want Civil coverage?

  • Do you want a company with a history of satisfied customers? Link below: True USCCA Member Stories

Make no mistake, the USCCA doesn’t need small time me defending them. They can and will step up and defend themselves against these phony allegations. And they have. And make sure you understand this: I am not making any accusations here - I am merely asking questions you should be asking, as well.
