Learned From Bill

A reader advises me that  this guy has been having an affair with one of his parishioners.

Lying, in and of itself, is not a sin. Deceitfulness is roundly admonished in both the Old and New Testaments. On a pragmatic note, deceit is indicative of character flaws. The same sort of character flaws evident in the sin of adultery.

I harbor no ill will toward this person. Yet, he does not belong in the position of a Shepherd.
