The Big Beautiful Bill has some really good Pro-2A stuff in it, and that has the democrats angry! 

A Suppressor Revolution, Finally Within Reach

The Big Beautiful Bill that recently passed through Congress is now in the hands of the Senate, and it's getting even better. One of the most exciting provisions in the original House version was the removal of suppressors—often mischaracterized as “silencers”—from the National Firearms Act (NFA). If passed, this would mean no more $200 tax stamps, no more waiting months for approval, no more fingerprints or forms just to protect your hearing. It would restore a little sanity to the firearm accessory market—something that's been missing for decades.

Short-Barreled Freedom Is Coming
Now the Senate is upping the ante. Their version of the bill doesn’t just target suppressors—it also includes removing short barreled rifles and shotguns from the NFA’s overreaching grip. That’s right: no more kludged-together “AR pistols” with stabilizing braces just to stay legal. No more absurd paperwork for wanting a defensive shotgun that actually fits inside a hallway. All you’d need is money and a clean background check—just like buying a standard rifle. It’s almost like they’re treating us like grown adults with constitutional rights. Wild concept, I know.

Cue the Screaming—There Will Be Blood (Supposedly)
Right on cue, anti-gun politicians and media talking heads are screeching the usual apocalyptic chorus: “There will be blood in the streets!” And as always, the louder they scream, the less likely it is to actually happen. That claim has been shouted every time pro-2A legislation gains ground, and spoiler alert—it never pans out. The reality? Law-abiding citizens don’t suddenly turn into villains because their barrel is three inches shorter. Criminals, meanwhile, continue not giving a damn about laws. Funny how that works.

Whenever they shout "there will be blood in the streets," you can rest assured: there will not be blood in the streets. 

Crime Stats and Common Sense
Let’s talk facts, not fearmongering. Despite the NFA’s decades-long grip on suppressors and short-barreled guns, these items almost never show up in crimes. The one example that makes the rounds is a homemade suppressor used in a targeted killing of a healthcare executive—not something someone picked up legally. And yet, we’re all supposed to jump through flaming bureaucratic hoops to buy a can for hearing protection? Please. This is regulation theater at its finest.

Final Thoughts
The Senate’s updated version of the Big Beautiful Bill is a bold step toward dismantling outdated and unnecessary restrictions. Removing suppressors, SBRs, and SBSs from the NFA won’t create chaos—it’ll just make life a little easier and a lot more sane for responsible gun owners. If history tells us anything, it’s that when the anti-gun crowd yells “blood in the streets,” it’s mostly just the sound of their talking points crashing into reality. Is this bill perfect? No. But it is a step in the right direction from a 2A standpoint.
