Well How About That
Planned Parenthood claims that only 3% of their services are abortion. Of course, at the link, the admittedly far-leftwing Washington Post realizes the claim is ludicrous and debunks it. If the 3% claim were true, then the recent SCOTUS ruling would have minimal impact on them.
As an example, when Tennessee went to permitless carry, demand for handgun carry permit classes went to virtually zero. That had accounted for roughly 2% of my revenues. It did not hurt my business at all. I barely know its gone except for the referral I send about every 6 months or so to other schools.
All of that said, Planned Parenthood in Tennessee has decided to shut its doors now that abortions in Tennessee are not permitted past 6 weeks. Doesn't sound like they only lost 3% of their business, now does it? From the link:
Planned Parenthood of Middle Tennessee and Northern Mississippi announced Tuesday that it would no longer offer abortion services. The announcement came immediately after the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals lifted an injunction on a Tennessee law banning abortions after around six weeks of gestation, when fetal cardiovascular activity can typically be detected.
The meme above, made by this blogger, suggests that 65% of Planned Parenthood's non-government revenue comes via abortions. That number is arrived at on this blog post. The math used by the Washington Post article above suggests that 15% - 37% of PP's non-government revenue comes via abortions, but their math assumes a different set of circumstances, that is simply not confirmed by PP's own Financials. This blog used PP's actual financial data to arrive at the estimate.
In either event, most companies would have to shut down locations where 30% or 65% of their revenue was stripped away. And this is the point. Planned Parenthood knows what they do and they lie about it.
Who lies about what they do?
People who are ashamed of what they do lie about what they do.
They aren't ashamed.
ReplyDeleteI know these people. They believe that what they do is making the world a better place. They cynically believe that an unplanned pregnancy will destroy a womens' lives and that the unplanned child is better off dead.
They're afraid.
They're afraid of what people would do if the truth were to come out.
