Asymmetric Warfare

Let's make everyone mad today. Why? Because they probably need it. Especially if the content of this post makes them mad.

Seen on social media:

First:
That tank is going to need a driver / crew. That's where my rifle comes into play. Don't think that's the case - how did Vietnam and Afghanistan tie up the powerful American military for so long?
Liberals mad now - check.

Second:
If you think that "most of the American military would never attack the civilians," then I have some oceanfront property here in Tennessee to sell you. Most of the military will follow orders rather than lose their jobs. Don't believe me? 96% of the Air Force took the jab
Conservatives mad now - check.

Third:
To those civilians who open carry- this person is right and you are wrong!
Fudds mad now - check.

Other observations?

  2. Ask them what happened in Afghanistan and Viet Nam. Or ask the Brits about Ireland.

Or ask about the trucks running into the urban cesspools or the transformers, gas lines, water pumps, refineries, etc. Most "Blue" areas don't make, grow, or process anything. Even most airports are out in the surround. It will be ugly until you and yours die of thirst, in the cold and the dark. Don't even think of going there.

"Co-operative countrymen" with a Constitution worked for several centuries, better than anything else that the world has seen. Don't screw with success.

    1. I just happened across this at a very late date. But you could list a huge number of civil wars/coups that had civilians take on the standing military and win. Think Cuba or some of the places where popular figures like Castro led revolts, then shut down dissent, via ruthlessness. It seems that the first lesson that these despots learn is that once in power, take away the weapons from the people.
Don't forget that the Taliban held off not only America for 20 years, but the Russians for 10 years. And the Vietnamese held off not just America, but the French and numerous other nations for around 200 years, with often piss poor weapons. A people fighting for their own land and freedom will usually fight harder than one fighting for some esoteric notion of "right."
And the Brits in Belfast is a perfect example. I was young when it was going down, and we didn't have a lot of news about it, but what I saw, in weekly news magazines, was brutal. And the willingness to go brutal is what can make the other side give up.
