To Persuade, Use Rhetoric

A reader came across this post and asked why use rhetoric and what forms to use.

Here are some examples of rhetoric devices. Some of the more common ones used in the written word include:
Allusion
Analogy
Appositive
Enumeratio
Epithet
Hyperbole
Metaphor
Parallelism
Simile
Understatement

Since rhetoric is the art of persuasive speech.
And since logic rarely persuades these days.
One would be wise to learn these and the other listed rhetorical devices.

They are particularly useful when creating memes.
