How #FakeNews Works

#FakeNews is everywhere. President Trump has put on full display how false and misleading the mainstream media is. The mainstream media is not occasionally incorrect, they are false and misleading most of the time. Let's dig a little deeper as to how they do it. As a rule of thumb , the #FakeNews media uses two types of methods: speculative evidence and narrative control.

I. SPECULATIVE EVIDENCE

A. Speculation as fact.
Many times, the #FakeNews media will speculate on a topic, and present that as factual information. Furthermore, they will knowingly articulate something in such a way as to fool the less intelligent viewers and readers. Like the old saying goes, It's not just what you say, it's also how you say it.

B. Opinion as fact
Many times, the #FakeNews media will state an opinion, and present that is fact. Just as they do with speculation, the reporter may also word their opinion as fact, in an attempt to full less intelligent viewers or readers.

C. Wishful Thinking As fact
With a reporter of #FakeNews , the bias that they have must be assumed. Many times, they will report something that they wish was the case, and present that as fact.

D. Fabrication
Many times, the #FakeNews media will completely fabricate a "fact" or event. They may publish a retraction a few days later, they may not. Even in a case of a retraction, it is a well-known fact that the initial story will get all of the press, and the retraction will get virtually no press at all. Edited to add: "unnamed sources" generally goes here  (hat tip to Lefty).

II. NARRATIVE CONTROL

A. Rewritten Definitions
Often, the #FakeNews media will twist the meaning of a very plain word, in order to create a different "interpretation." Sometimes, they will invent words or phrases, that clearly did not exist before. ("Full semi automatic") Just like the other methods, this method is designed to distort reality.

B. False Moral Superiority
With the false moral superiority method, the #FakeNews media will hold one party to a moral standard, to which they do not hold another party. This is often called bias or partisanship. Regardless of which term you prefer, the net effect is the same, it's still #FakeNews.

C. Dismissal
Many times, the #FakeNews media will completely ignore a story. For example, as of the publication of this article, we are in the middle of Ramadan - the Moslem "holy month." There have been 118 attacks and 473 killed by Moslems so far, this Ramadan.

Yet, there is not a single article out about it in the mainstream media. It is a well-known and documented fact that more terrorist bombings and attacks happened during Ramadan, than happen at any other time of the year. Still, no press on these killings.  You know it's #FakeNews dismissal, because usually, "if it bleeds, it leads."

Summary - The Narrative
Make no mistake, there is a running globalist narrative that is thrust upon us by the #FakeNews media. Every event will be twisted to try to support this narrative. The Narrative is why all of these other #FakeNews tactics are used.  The Narrative is behind it all.
