Nope - I'm still not Catholic. But I really like Pope Francis. In fact, I followed him on Twitter recently. Shortly after that, he made a statement, urging bishops to deny communion to those who support abortion.
This is a good move, because it is not excommunication. It is not a move that turns people from the church. It is a move to make a statement without denying folks access to the church. It is simply a denial of a luxury, not a necessity.
